ICU PRAYER
A personal testimony of faith, prayer & hope

When Someone You Love Is in the ICU

There are moments when the doctors have done what they can, the answers aren't clear, and all you know to do is pray. ICU Prayer was born from one of those moments.

Why this site exists

For the family waiting, watching and praying.

An ICU can change life in an instant. Fear, uncertainty and exhaustion can make it difficult to know what to say — even to God. This site shares a personal testimony and a book created from that experience, with the hope that it can encourage someone walking through it now.

The testimony behind ICU Prayer

Our Story

Hear the personal story behind the book and why ICU Prayer was written.

If you're in that waiting room today

You don't need perfect words to pray.

You may be tired. You may be frightened. You may have questions no one can answer yet. Prayer doesn't require you to pretend that everything is okay.

Sometimes prayer begins with simply turning toward God in the middle of the uncertainty — one moment, one breath, one prayer at a time.

“This isn't a book written from a distance. It came from living through the waiting, the uncertainty, and the need to keep praying when we didn't know what would happen next.”

ICU Prayer

The book is for the parent, child, spouse, relative or friend facing the uncertainty of a loved one's critical illness. It offers a place to turn when the situation is bigger than you and the words are hard to find.

The testimony is the beginning. The book carries that experience further through prayer, faith and encouragement for the waiting.
